Units and lessons are to incorporate into existing curriculum the four strands of the grant: arts integration with a DBAE approach, technology integration, constructivist learning theory, and interdisciplinary curriculum.

All Unit Plans are to be considered "Works in Progress". As teachers reflected upon the challenges and successes of each unit they were encouraged to return and make modifications. Also, each teacher was at their own level in incorporating the four strands of the grant into their daily teaching. As they grew more comfortable with each area they were encouraged to revisit their Unit Plan and make modifications. These Unit Plans are a snapshot of where the teachers were when the grant ended.

Art Splash - Teens Teaching Tots Art
High School (9-12)

The purpose of this unit is for teenage students to plan and teach art activities to Head Start preschool children in the community.

Exploring Nebraska Art and Architecture

1. Become aware of the artistic heritage available in the State of Nebraska.

2. Became aware of ways to study Nebraska Art on the Internet.

3. Find ways to analyze specific works of art and to communicate the analysis to others.

The children will conclude that some aspects of life change over time, other aspects remain the same, and these aspects of life are shared orally from storytellers or in written form and visually in works of art.
