Dear Editor,

My opinion is that I think the chief, Standing Bear, should win the trial because he didn't hurt anybody. His people weren't doing anything to hurt anyone. All that they wanted to do was bury Standing Bear's son. They are very peaceful people. From what Mr. Tibbles says in the paper why would they want to fight? They aren't fighting people. They want to farm the land. Not start a war on it. I am a farmer's daughter and we live on the plains, so we see a lot of people come and go. They sometimes come over to visit and they seem like very nice friendly people. Even though they are Indians.

Sincerely,

Laura Lea
